TOWN ASSESSOR The Town of Brattleboro is seeking a full-time Town Assessor to direct the operations of the Office of Assessment. A primary function of the Office is to produce the annual Grand List. Varied duties include using computerized valuation software, inspecting real estate, and gathering market information. 40 hours per week, full benefit package. Salary range $61,105 to $66,105. Applicants are expected to have extensive real estate background. Job requires frequent interaction with public, and ability to work cooperatively. TOWN OF BRATTLEBORO, VERMONT Amendment to the Code of Ordinances November 21, 2017 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Selectboard of the Town of Brattleboro on November 21, 2017 at a duly warned meeting adopted the following AMENDMENTS to Chapter 7 (Ordinance Regulating the Collection and Disposal of Solid Waste), Section 2 (Regulating Single-Use Plastic Bags Within the Town), Article 1 (Purpose), Article II (Definitions), Article III (General Prohibition and Regulation), Article IV (Exemptions to General Prohibition), Article V (Penalties and Enforcement), Article VI (Date of Effect), and Article VII (Hardship Deferments), of the Brattleboro Code of Ordinances, viz: In Chapter 7 (Ordinance Regulating the Collection and Disposal of Solid Waste), Section 2 (Regulating Single-Use Plastic Bags Within the Town) and relevant Articles were added. Section 2 and its articles are a wholly new section added to define and regulate the use of "single use" plastic bags within retail establishments and other places of businesses located within the Town of Brattleboro. Section 2 in its entirety will be posted on the homepage of the Town's website. A copy of this Amendment may be obtained from the Brattleboro Town Manager's Office. Peter B. Final Public Hearing The Town of Brattleboro received $1,340,000 from the State of Vermont for a grant under the Vermont Community Development Program. A public hearing will be held in the Select Board Meeting Room at 230 Main Street, Brattleboro, Vermont on December 19, 2017 at 6:15 PM to obtain the views of citizens on community development, to furnish information concerning the range of community development activities that have been undertaken under this program, and to give affected citizens the opportunity to examine a statement of the use of these funds. The VCDP Funds received have been used to accomplish the following activities: To provide a grant to the Windham & Windsor Housing Trust (WWHT) for capital and staff costs to provide counseling services, home ownership assistance and a residential rehabilitation loan program for three years.
